ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday obtained former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s wealth and income tax details during the hearing of National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) appeal against Sharif’s acquittal.
Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani presided over the appeal.
During the proceedings, NAB prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi argued, Sharif held shares in 13 companies of flagship investment.
Justice Kiyani asked whether taking AED 10,000 salary is a crime? How did he build everything on the basis of this salary, he questioned.
To this the NAB prosecutor said, the former premier has not declared all his assets. He said NAB’s entire argument is that Sharif’s assets are not compatible with the tax returns.
The court asked Abbasi to make a chart of Sharif’s wealth and income tax and submit it to court.
